Bill F. Davis IntermediateHome of the Marauders.
Let me be the first to say it is a great day to be a Davis Intermediate School Marauder. I would like to welcome each of you to the newest intermediate school in Wylie. My name is Mike Williams, and I will be your principal. I have been involved in education either as a teacher, coach, or administrator for the last twenty-two years and for the last four years, I have served as the Assistant Principal at Burnett Jr. High School. I am a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University and Texas A&M University-Commerce. My wife teaches at Dodd Elementary and both of my daughters attend school in Wylie. We are proud to call Wylie home and we believe our daughters are receiving a world class education through the Wylie ISD.
Work is nearing completion at Bill F. Davis Intermediate School and furniture should be delivered in early June. Many of our teachers will be coming from McMillan Jr. High School, and I’m very busy interviewing new applicants to fill the other positions that are available. I see no problem in our building being ready for the start of school. We have a web site that is up and running and new messages and pictures can be viewed by going to the Wylie ISD web site and clicking on Davis Intermediate School link.
There are some important events that will be coming up that will be of interest to you. The first is the organizational meeting for the Davis Intermediate School PTA. This meeting will take place on April 22, 2004. The meeting will be held at McMillan Jr. High School. We will meet in the cafeteria at 7:00 P.M. At this meeting, a representative from the Wylie ISD School Board will be present to share information about the upcoming bond election. New students to the district may come by the school starting June 1 and pick up a registration packet to sign up for a day and time to meet with the registrar.
Thank you,
Mike Williams
